Gatwick Airport has a long history of aviation that dates back to 1930s when an Avro 504 (World War I biplane) was kept there for a while.

1. The Beehive
Used for aviation in 1928 – Gatwick Airport’s first operational terminal was finalized in 1935 for flights. Gatwick Airport was also known to be the first airport to implement one-structure execution airport in Europe. Sadly, we no longer have the sight to Beehive as it obsoleted after the 50s.

Gatwick Airport has the capacity to accommodate 27,000 cars at a time. However, on August 16th, 2003, 134,527 passengers asked for a parking space. This is was huge, considering the airport could not manage this amount of passengers as they simply did not have enough space.
